Welcome to the fourth edition of the MCFA Annals!
With their twelve panels covering Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Economics, Electronics, Engineering, Human Sciences, Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Social Sciences, Innovation and Technology Transfer, the MCFA Annals reflect well the variety and interdisciplinarity of the research world in Europe. The Marie Curie Annals are the melting point at the crossroad of several research disciplines. This review will progress together with our European Research Area. In particular, since all the articles are based on results accomplished during or following a Marie Curie contract, the Annals represent a snapshot of the strength and impact of the Marie Curie EC program.
