The Department received a Grade 5 in the previous two Research Assessment Exercises and is one of the major providers of mathematics teaching in Scotland. Research strengths are in pure maths, applied analysis, mathematical biology, numerical mathematics and mathematical physics. You will contribute to the undergraduate teaching programme within other Schools as well as to specialist classes to Mathematics degree students and will be expected to pursue research in some area of pure or applied mathematics.
