Computer Vision Lab
Aragon Institute of Engineering Research
University of Zaragoza - Spain
www.unizar.es

Several post-doc positions are available at the Computer Vision Lab of
the Aragon Institute of Engineering Research at the University of
Zaragoza, Spain. We seek highly motivated individuals with a good track
of publications in international journals. The successful candidate will
join a rapidly developing group and participate on several on-going
funded projects involving international cooperations and links to
industry.

The candidates should have a demonstrated experience in any of the
following domains

- Facial biometrics: with particular emphasis on model-based image
analysis and statistical modeling. Candidates with a solid background in
computer science, mathematics or physics. Candidates with a strong
experience in computational geometry, surface registration, texture
analysis, or pattern recognition are particularly invited to submit
their application. The successful candidate will be engaged in a project
aiming at the construction of 3D statistical models of facial shape and
appearance.

- Level-sets and shape statistics: candidates with a strong background
on mathematics and computational physics and with expertise in the
fields of statistics, shape modeling, and numerical methods (PDEs) are
invited to submit their application to work within a project aiming at
the analysis of cardiovascular images using level-set techniques
incorporating shape statistics. The candidate will be involved in an
international collaboration aiming at the construction of personalized
computational fluid models of the vasculature and the heart.

- Cardiac statistical shape models: we seek for a candidate with a
strong expertise in computer science with particular emphasis on one or
several of the following topics: 3D computational geometry, motion
tracking and analysis, deformation analysis, image registration,
statistical shape models.

In the event of exceptional candidates, some of the vacancies might be
filled as PhD positions. If you are interested in any of these
vacancies, please, send your resume at your earliest convenience to Dr.
Alejandro Frangi (afrangi@DROPMEunizar.es) together with a statement of
