Dear All, On 6-7 May 2005 the "European Forum for Early Career Researchers" will take place in Otocec, Southern Slovenia. The event is jointly organised by the Marie Curie Fellowship Association and the Slovenian public foundation "Ad Futura". The idea of the Forum is to bring together early career researchers and more experienced colleagues from across Europe, from across disciplines, and from a broad range of professional backgrounds. The event will also be of particular interest to people involved in science policy at national or European level. The Forum will essentially consist of a number of workshops, covering a broad range of topics. Half of these will be of a practical nature, providing participants with training in transferable skills, the other half will be more science policy oriented. Participants will also have the opportunity to present posters for sharing information about their research projects and other topics of interest to early career researchers. We expect about 150 participants. Marie Curie fellows are especially invited to attend (regardless whether their fellowship is still ongoing or already over). More information about the programme, registration procedure etc. can be found on the website of the event at www.ad-futura.si/EuroForum. If you believe your colleagues would be interested in participating in this event or you have a possibility to promote the event among other early career researchers, you can download an A4 size poster with basic information about the Forum and post it on your information board or other spot frequently visited by other researchers. You can access the poster through this link: http://www.ad-futura.si/euroforum/slike/Promotion/A4-color.pdf (the poster prints well both in colour and in black-and-white). I hope that at least some of you will decide to join us in Otocec in May! Kind regards, Dagmar Important note to current Marie Curie fellows: Current Marie Curie fellows can ask their host institutions to cover their travel and registration costs from the "Community contribution towards the research and administration costs associated to the fellowship" (FP5, this unfortunately does not apply to Industry Host Fellowships) resp. from the "Community contribution to the participation expenses of eligible researchers" (FP6, this does not apply to the Transfer of Knowledge Fellowships from FP6 and the outgoing phase of the Outgoing International Fellowships). If you need any help in this respect, please contact us at EuroForum@DROPMEmariecurie.org. -- ****************************************************** Dr. Dagmar M.
