Title: 	call for Young Investigators Groups, Helmholtz Association

The Helmholtz Association will establish 20 Young Investigators Groups.
Deadline for application for group leaders is 30 June 2005. Target group
of the call are postdocs from domestic or international institutions with
proven research experience abroad, 2 - 6 years after obtaining the
doctorate (childcare periods will be taken into consideration). The
candidates must have completed a continuous 6-month research period abroad
during a doctorate or a postdoctorate phase. The term of the research
groups is 5 years with an evaluation after 3-4 years. Funding will be
granted to 20 independent Young Investigators Groups working in the fields
of Energy, Earth and Environment, Health, Key Technologies, Structure of
Matter, and Transport and Space. The financial provision for a Young
Investigators Group amounts to at least 250,000 euros a year, which
includes the position of the group leader, scientific or technical staff
(three on average), costs of materials and supplies and investment costs.
