TITLE:        Schering research fellowships
ABSTRACT:
The Ernst Schering Foundation awards fellowships for doctoral students in
order to promote basic research in biology, chemistry and medicine.
Closing date for applications (in English) is 31 July 2005.

Doctoral students
The programme is open to applicants of all nationalities.
The applicant should not have begun his/her PhD-thesis, and not have
completed his/her studies more than two years before submitting the
application. He/she should not be older than 28 years. The host institute
or university can be freely chosen by the applicant, but it must declare
its readiness to host the doctoral student. The fellowships are awarded
for a period of two years and cover a grant of EUR 1.200 per month.

Postdoctoral researchers
Postdoctoral reserachers in biomedicine or medical chemistry who would
like to carry out research projects at renowned institutes at home and
abroad are invited to apply for research projects. The applicant shall
have a PhD-degree in biology, chemistry, medicine or pharmacy and should
not be older than 33 years. The award provides a grant of EUR 3.800 per
month, for a period of two years. The host institute must declare its
readiness to host the applicant. All nationalities can apply. Closing date
for applications (in English) is 31 July 2005 as well.

Young researchers from Poland
The Schering Foundation awards short-term fellowships (for short visits up
to three months) for young scientists in the fields of biological,
chemical or medical (basic) research from Poland. The short-term
fellowships aim at scientific collaboration, advanced training or using
techniques not available at the usual place of work. Applicants shall not
be older than 33 years. The projects may be undertaken in Germany or
another European country. Applications can be submitted at any time.
