TITLE:              Vacancies at the University of Siegen, Faculty of
Electrical Engineering and Informatics: 1 Postdoc and 2 PhD-positions
ABSTRACT:           The Institute of High Frequency and Quantum
Electronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of
the University of Siegen offers a position for a Scientific Associate
(PostDoc position) (Verg.-Gr. I b BAT) starting anytime after 1.5.2005 for
a duration of 4 years with an option for prolongation.

Your tasks: Collaboration for the buildup and leading of a research group
in the field of Terahertz (THz) research, biomolecular sensorics and
ultrafast laser technology. A creative and independent involvement into
project definition and management is strongly supported. An proportionate
participation to the acquisition of projects, as well as in administration
and educational tasks of the group is expected. The proportionate training
obligation amounts to 4 hours per week. The opportunity for the
development of an independent scientific profile will be supported by
extensive publication and international conference presentations
possibilities.

Your profile: You are a young and motivated researcher with academic
skills. You have a physics or electrical engineering background with
experience in a field relevant to the research topics described above.
Knowledge of high frequency or semiconductor technology round up your
profile. Fluent English and international experience are positively taken
into account.

Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the University of Siegen offers

BAT) starting anytime after 1.5.2005 for a duration of 4 years with an
option for prolongation.

Your tasks: Collaboration within the Terahertz (THz) research activities
of the group in the framework of the European Integrated Project Teranova.
The activities in Siegen focus here on the development of THz biomolecular
sensorchips. A creative and independent involvement into the project
management in this attractive interdisciplinary field is strongly
supported. A proportionate participation to the acquisition of projects,
as well as in administration and educational tasks of the group is
expected. The proportionate training obligation amounts to 4 hours per
week. The opportunity for the development of an independent scientific
profile will be supported by extensive publication and international
conference presentations possibilities. The opportunity to obtain a PhD
will be supported.
