ABSTRACT:           The Collaborative Research Center SFB 593 "MECHANISMS
OF CELLULAR COMPARTMENTALIZATION AND THE RELEVANCE FOR HUMAN DISEASE" at
Philipps-Universität Marburg invites applications for the position of an
Independent Junior Research Group Leader

The position is available in fall 2005.

The 14 participating SFB 593 groups investigate the intracellular
distribution of proteins, RNA, and metals between various organelles, the
assembly of plasma membrane transporters, the intracellular maturation and
assembly of highly pathogenic viruses, and the compartmentalization of
intracellular pathogens.

We are now searching for an outstanding young scientist with profound
experience and genuine interest in investigating cellular
compartmentalization and transport processes or viral assembly in the
eukaryotic cell at the molecular level.

The Independent Junior Research Group will be incorporated into the
general research program of the SFB 593 with funding for up to 5 years and
the possibility for an extension of up to 3 years. Funding initially
includes the position of the group leader, a post-doc, 2 PhD students and
technical personnel as well as consumables and instrumentation. The SFB
offers full access to its proteomics and imaging facilities.

The applicants have held a doctorate for no more than 6 years, have
performed successful postdoctoral research and are expected to be capable
of independently leading a research group. Candidates should not have any
close relationship to the SFB regarding personal or regional aspects. The
selection process includes an oral presentation and an evaluation by a DFG
review panel.

copies of the most important publications (max. 5) should be sent no later
