Applicants should have a PhD in some area of Pure mathematics, should be
able to demonstrate a strong track record and/or potential in research and
publications, have teaching experience and should demonstrate in
professional
practice. Candidates are encouraged from all areas of Pure Mathematics,
though in the first place preference may be given to applicants whose
research interests increase the scope and coherence of the existing
group, for example applicants with interest in algebraic geometry,
algebraic K-theory, geometric representation theory, noncommutative or
differential geometry, symbolic and topological dynamics, or other subjects
linking areas between algebra, geometry and/or topology, and subsequent
preference to applicants whose research interests complement and amplify
the present interest in algebra and topology. The successful applicant
will be expected to contribute to the teaching of the Department.
