TITLE:            INTAS Young Scientist Fellowships
ABSTRACT:         INTAS - International Association for the Promotion of
Co-operation with Scientists from the Independent States of the Former
Soviet Union- has published an open call for young researchers. It seeks
to provide researchers from the NIS with the opportunity of carrying out a
research project in their home country, in cooperation with research
institutions from abroad. The fellowship includes 2 research stays with
the host organisation of between 4 and 8 months. The duration of the
fellowship is two years, for PhDs as well as for Postdocs. It is open to
all disciplines. The maximum age for both kinds of fellowships is 35
years, applicants must be a citizen and a permanent resident of a NIS
country. There will be a lump sum reimbursement for basic fellowship
grant, a living cost allowance and a travel grant.

This call has a total budget of EUR 2.2 million and is open to all NIS
countries. Furthermore there is a Collaborative Call with NIS partners
Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova, which has a budget of EUR 130.000.
Another Collaborative Call with CERN (European Centre for Nuclear
Research), DESY (Deutsches Elektronen Synchotron) and GSI (Gesellschaft
für Schwerionenforschung) has a budget of EUR 300.000.

The deadline for all calls will be 8 September 2005.
