TITLE: Vacancy: Post Doc at the Institute for Analytical
Sciences (ISAS)
ABSTRACT: The ISAS - Institute for Analytical Sciences - is
located in Dortmund and Berlin and a member of the Leibniz Association.
Besides scientific activities in the development of new or improved
measuring methods and analytical separation techniques as well as
spectroscopy and spectrometric equipment in modern analysis, research is
undertaken in the areas of spectroscopic methods and analytical
contributions to solving problems in the fields of materials and life
sciences.
For the Material Analysis Department in Dortmund, ISAS invites
applications for a position of a Post Doc (XPS, AES and surface science).
The research will focus on the development of new, fs-laser driven, pulsed
X-ray sources for surface analysis and their application to XPS. The
scientific tasks comprise fields like ultrafast processes on surfaces and
the improvement of the X-ray source. The applicant should have excellent
references and basics experiences in surface analysis. Part of the
position is the autonomous operation of our XPS/ AES laboratory.
The possibility for independent scientific work in an interdisciplinary
team including the opportunity for further scientific education and
training will be offered.

Payment will be according to the German BAT IIa standard. This position is
available for two years with the possibility of extension for another
year. The position is open from October 1, 2005.
