TITLE:            Sofja Kovalevskaja-Award for Young Researchers
ABSTRACT:         The Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation announces the
Sofja Kovalevskaja-award. The call addresses young researchers with a
Ph.D. degree and a significant publication record.

Applicants should not be older than 35 years. The program is open to
scientist of all nations and fields. The award wants to open the German
research landscape to international applicants. German researchers who
want to apply therefore should be working abroad for a time period of 5
years prior to the application. Non-German applicants should not have
worked for more than three years in Germany prior to the application.

The award should be used to build up a junior research group (including
the salary of the group leader). Application deadline is January 4, 2006.
