---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 13 Oct 2003 16:14:51 +0100 Subject: 2 Tourism Lecturer Posts at Sheffield Hallam Apologies for cross-postings CENTRE FOR TOURISM & CULTURAL CHANGE SCHOOL OF SPORT & LEISURE MANAGEMENT LECTURERS/SENIOR LECTURERS IN TOURISM MANAGEMENT (Two Posts) REF 518/03 Salary range £22191 to £34191 Closing Date: 3.11.03 We require two Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in Tourism Management to teach at postgraduate and undergraduate level. It is envisaged that one post will focus on championing our undergraduate courses and international developments, while the second will have a strong emphasis on research and/or consultancy. However, both appointees will have an opportunity to gain experience of a range of activities that reflect their strengths and interests. The appointees will join the highly successful Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change, a team of eleven full-time tourism specialists with a worldwide network of partners and research collaborators. Tourism, as part of the School's submission to the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise, scored a 4 rating. Candidates should have a sound academic background with a first degree and/or higher degree in the Social Sciences and/or an area related to tourism. Previous experience in teaching is highly desirable. Experience of working within the tourism sector and/or a publication and research record in tourism is also highly desirable. The Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change is pursuing an ambitious research agenda and is working with colleagues on projects in many countries. It is envisaged that both appointees will be active members of the Centre. The Centre of Tourism and Cultural Change is also involved in business development and is looking for individuals who can contribute to its consultancy and Continuing Professional Development programme for tourism and cultural sectors. These posts are an excellent opportunity for two dynamic, enthusiastic academics to make full use of their skills and expertise for the benefit of themselves and the team as a whole.
