ISE Conference: Building-up the ERC - A novel Approach to SciencePolicy Making, UNESCO Paris, 25/26 October 2004

Dear All,

on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 October 2004, the Initiative for Science in
Europe (ISE) is organizing a Conference on the European Research Council
(ERC), which will be hosted by UNESCO in its Headquarters in Paris,
France.

The Conference is designed to identify and discuss crucial issues related
to the establishment of an ERC and highlight the various possibilities to
address them. Notably, the Conference aims to revue and discuss the
general principles of the ERC, provide an update on the current views from
the European Commission, confront the recommendations of the EC-EUROHORCs
working group on the principles that should govern the ERC and its
practical implementation with the views of the scientific community and
discuss further issues affecting ERC policies. In organizing this
Conference, ISE intends to help politicians define a roadmap for the
establishment of the ERC.

There is no registration fee; however, on-line registration is compulsory.
The number of places/participants is restricted.

If you would like to take part in the conference, please register through
the conference web site at

http://www.initiative-science-europe.org/ISE_conference.html

The preliminary programme has been linked to the corresponding entry in
the MCFA events database:
