"Austrian Science Talk" Info Days in the US: San Francisco (19 Nov)& New York (23 Nov)

Dear All,

the MCFA has been contacted by Ms Charlotte Alber from the Austrian
National Contact Point (http://www.bit.ac.at) with the request to
circulate through our network the information below. It concerns two
information events in the US, one on 19 November 2004 in San Francisco,
the other on 23 November 2004 in New York.

These events should be of particular interest to researchers in the US (of
any nationality and level of experience) who would like to build up or
extend collaborations with European researchers (especially in Austria).
The meetings are also an ideal platform to get information on the Marie
Curie Incoming International Fellowships or the Marie Curie International
Reintegration Grants. There will be an opportunity to get personalised
advice during the meetings.

Young (<40 years) researchers who come to one of the meetings by train
or plane can apply for partial travel support. The meetings will be in
German, but on request a simultaneous translation to English will be
provided.

Please circulate the invitation among your colleagues or other potential
participants interested in the topic. You could also help to promote the
information events by listing the meeting announcement on your website or
in your events calendar.

Many thanks,
Dagmar

INVITATION TO THE AUSTRIAN SCIENCE TALK

Ladies and gentlemen,

The Austrian Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology
(BMVIT) and the Austrian Research Centers cordially invite you to a
roadshow with brunch.

Austrian Science Talk - Austrian Initiatives in the "Race for Scientific
Championship"

This is the motto of two events in the United States organized by the
Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology in cooperation
with the Austrian Research Centers within the framework of the "brainpower
austria" project:

    * on 19 November 2004 in San Francisco, UCSF Millberry Conference Center
    * on 23 November 2004 in New York, Austrian Cultural Forum

These information events (participation free of charge) are addressed to
researchers and representatives of relevant institutions in the fields of
science, research and business in the United States as well as to
PhD-students and graduates of universities.

The objective is to inform participants (of all nationalities) about
perspectives, initiatives and job opportunities in research and
development in Austria as well as cooperation possibilities in R&D between
the European Union and the United States.

The Austrian Science Talk provides a forum for all participants to
intensify their contacts with Austria, talk to representatives of the
Austrian research and technology arena, and build new networks. Following
the daytime event we would like to extend the invitation to an informal
gathering at 6:00 PM at McCormick & Kuleto's Seafood Restaurant,
Ghiradelli Square (in San Francisco) respectively at the Austrian Cultural
Forum (New York).

Please see our website (http://www.brainpower-austria.at) for the agenda
and further information. We ask that you RSVP by email trough October 29
directly with the brainpower austria office in Vienna
(office@DROPMEbrainpower-austria.at).

Please, do not hesitate to contact the brainpower austria office if you
have any questions. Feel free to forward this invitation to your
colleagues or potential participants interested in that topic.

We look forward to meeting you!

With best regards,
Your brainpower austria Team
