Re: [mcfa-int] Unemployment compensation once back in Spain? [signed]
|
Hi Antonio and others
Well what Mario says is indeed right: if you return
unemployed than it is very bad luck for you but you won'tget nothing. You have
to work in Spain (and be included in the seg. social) for at least 180 days. You
are however, entitled to all rights British people get from their system, incl.
unemployment benefits, as long as you stay in the UK of course and maybe even
the 1st month when you go back - you should ask. I know the export of these
social security things like pensions and unemployment benefits etc. are a
big thing for debate on the European labour market but as far as I know there
are no rules so far. Oh yeah and of course make sure you pay for social security
but I suppose that that is always the case with a normal contract.
Good luck, Erik.

compensation once back in Spain? [signed]
Hi Antonio and all at the
list,
Basically, you won't get problems to have unemployment money back
in Spain if you make sure that you'd be entitled to have it in your host
country, in this case UK.
In other words, do not simply assume that
your working contract pays for your unemployment. Check it out from the very
beginning, because it does not work in all countries as it does in
Spain.
Another point is that to get unemployment money back in Spain,
you will have to be back, work for a while, and then be jobless again. This
changed sometime around 2002 if I am not wrong.
On the other hand, you
wrote "I do know that the two years I'll spend in UK will be
taken into account for my retirement in Spain"
This
issue is far from clear as far as I know, so any tip from you would be helpful
out there.
Best
Mario

Dear all, I've just been awarded and Marie Curie EIF in UK. I do know that the two years I'll spend in UK will be taken into account for my retirement in Spain, but do you know if I'll be entitled to receive any compensation concerning unemployment once I'm back in Spain after the two-year stay?
Thanks a lot for your attention.
All the best,
