Re: [mcfa-int] Unemployment compensation once back in Spain? [signed]

Antonio and all,

In case you need to stay in the UK after your contract is finished in order to
claim unemployment benefits in the UK rather than Spain, also make sure you
know your obligations as a person receiving social benefits, e.g. to
demonstrate genuine efforts for finding a new job etc, keeping in mind that
the Job Centres in the UK can't really help you with finding jobs in the
academic world (or at least didn't do 5 years ago when I last worked there).
Basically read the small print in the UK system too!

As far as the transfer of banefits within the EU is concerned I think that the
Association, bringing together experiences of different people exercising
intra-european mobility over the recent years, can play a crucial role in
this discussion within the EU. Do we have such a discussion panel installed
in our web pages? And which might be the exact fora within the EU that we
need to get in touch with?

Cheers,

Spyros Kitsionas._
