Subject: [RAMONYCAJAL] Let's do something about science in Europe

Dear colleagues:

Nobody is happy with the way European science funding is carried out at the
moment - the networks, the paperwork and the bureaucracy.

We believe the time has come to let this be known to the European
Commission and to Members of the European Parliament.

Last week, ELSO launched a petition 'for a new and ambitious European
science policy'. It is of the utmost importance that we obtain the support
of many scientists both in the life sciences and other fields.

We hope you will be ready to sign the petition and to forward it to as many
colleagues as possible. You can do this directly, by sending a message like
this one to colleagues and friends in your e-mail address book and to
members of your institute. Or, if you prefer, you can use the facility
built in to the petition web page. All you have to do is to go to the
petition web site, sign yourself and fill in as many email addresses of
colleagues as possible.

You will find at that web site also links to articles about the petition.
