[MCFA Int] Re: Statutes for the MCFA.

---- The International MCFA E-Mail List Server ----

Dear all,

the points that Meinhard raised with his posting seem to be very important
for all of us. The current statutes are very unsatisfactory. Time is,
unfortunately short, to have a quick change of the statutes. But it is
manageable, see Olivers posting
(http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/marie-curie-fa/1998-02/0003.html)

At the last UK meeting, Meinhard was presenting these points to all of us.
His latest proposal is the result of the discussion. It will be discussed
and voted on in our next meeting in Edinburgh. A lot of you probably won't
come to this meeting (including Meinhard!!) so it would be good to have
your opinion on this crucial issue now. And remember, what we mainly need
is constructive criticism with at least as many "I want to have instead"'s
as there are going to be "I don't like"'s!!

These are the facts. My personal opinion is, that Meinhard did a very good
and careful job and I agree with his points. Important is the quick change
of this crazy partition between "active" and "associate" members and also
the clear definition of the national groups in the statues, because there
is where most of the work will be happening.

I hope that all of you state your opinion, even if you just plainly agree
with Meinhard's proposal...

Joerg.
