[MCFA Int] Re: EMDS: career opportunities with leading companies

---- The International MCFA E-Mail List Server ----

Dear All,

Thank you very much for your replys concerning our investigation to
approach EMDS for a possible co-operation.

Joerg and Maziar will keep you informed on the process of their taskforce
which has truly an international dimension. (Please see Maziar's and
Joerg's recent posting at
http://www.mailbase.ac.uk/lists/marie-curie-fa/1998-02/0010.html and the
forthcoming minutes of the next meeting of the UK Group scheduled for
28/2/1998)

Our plan is (at least here in the UK) to approach leading companies
and recruitment agencies (e.g. EMDS) at a national and/or European
level. Joerg and Maziar already sent letters to a number of management
consultancies in this context.

One of the next steps of their taskforce will be to approach a number of
recruitment agencies like EMDS. Especially, it might be interesting to have
a career fair just for Marie Curie Fellows.

To coordinate our efforts and collaboration it would be good to send any
suggestions or even connections directly to Joerg and Maziar and/or the
international mailing list for the benefit of all of us.

It should be quite obvious that the MCFA would also like to increase
contact to academic institutions. As Winfried noted, concepts to approach
academia will differ from those applied for contacting industry.
Therefore may be some of you would like to create an additional task force
"Contacts to academia" to keep the balance between those two possible
employers.

The two taskforces then can co-ordinate their efforts at a European level.

Best regards,
Oliver

NB: Frank is correct with his impression that EMDS recruits mainly for
business and management, but not exclusively. Moreover it will be our
challenge to explain them that there is a demand in other areas which they
then can sell to their clients. They are interested in highly qualified and
motivated personalities with international exposure and this sounds to me
exactly after the definition of a Marie Curie Fellow. :-)
