[MCFA Int] Re: How the MCFA is governed by the Adimistrative Board

---- The International MCFA E-Mail List Server ----

Dear Norbert,

Fact is that the meeting was not open to all members, it was only(!) a
compromise of the administrative board.

Fact is, that the work group set up there does only work on internal rules
not on statutes. Internal rules can be changed by the administrative board,
statutes not.

By the way you are not a member of the governing board (this does not exist
in the MCFA) but in the administrative board!

Fact is, that your AAAI statutes are 16 pages long, not 6 pages (10 point
font) as the MCFA does.

Fact is that your AAAI statutes even mention what kind of postage they use
for inviting the members to special meetings.
> If notice is given by mail, and the notice is not mailed first class,

Don't you think that then the rights of national groups in our case should
not be included in the statutes, because it is such a special thing?

You said:

This is right, but they mention even the following committees:
-Nominating Committee
-Nominating Committee
-Conference Committee
-Program Committee
-Fellows Committee
-Other committees

I think this is sufficient to make my point again. The administrative board
should rather look on issues, like
how can they ensure that from the currently 738 members 50% are coming to
the general assembly to make the assembly able to decide on issues.
->More administrative work not governing work.

Best regards,

Meinhard
